“I teach the gifted education program at my school. I have the smartest kids in the school but we have the least access to the available technology. The computer labs at my school are monopolized by online skills evaluations in both ELA and math given monthly by the general education teachers. I only have five ancient desktop computer in my classroom, so any lessons or products requiring the use of computers take a minimum of four to five weeks to complete, depending on the group size. (My five groups range from 11 to 16 students – 64 students total – who come to me for challenging lessons during three 50-minute lessons per week)”, Ms. Locascio.
