Erin Murtaugh, GATE teacher, stated “I wanted provide my students with a variety of activities that stimulate logical and creative thinking. Also, I work with my students to develop communication and collaboration skills. I have found that stimulating board games and card games are an exciting way to support student development in these skill areas. Furthermore, many of my students at Wynn ES are English language learners. They need a variety of opportunities to speak with other students and improve their language skills. Games, of course, provide engaging situations for using language, and I want to provide that for my students. Unfortunately, when I started at Wynn ES this year, I did not find any games available for my students. It is my goal to make sure that we acquire games this year that will last for years to come.”
